Aica-Ribonucleotide, or AICAR (aminoimidazole carboxamide ribonucleotide), acts as a protein kinase agent activated by AMP. It’s an intermediate in the generation of inosine monophosphate. Essentially, AICAR allows an increased amount of blood flow throughout the body and this increase in blood flow enables elevated levels of oxygen receipt and glucose intake on a cellular level by blocking enzymes both in intracellular and extracellular levels.
